THE MAKING (UNSPOKEN) - 5 months ago

So… our film project didn’t just magically appear on camera. It all started on WhatsApp. that group chat was where the script dropped, arguments started, suggestions flew around, and somehow, we ended up with a story we could actually film.

Then came the role picking. A quick poll on WhatsApp and boom director, camera crew, sound team, make-up, set design. Everybody had a job. Suddenly, we weren’t just classmates anymore… we were a film crew.

Of course, film isn’t cheap. We planned a budget, contributed money, borrowed stuff, and even built our own clapperboard. When our lecturer finally approved the script after some corrections, it felt like we unlocked level one.

First shoot: Gwagwalada, Abuja.
Make-up team painting faces, costume team dressing up actors, set guys hanging wallpapers, lights flashing. It wasn’t easy—plenty of hiccups—but at the end of the day, the scene was done.

Second shoot: the Faculty. Our lecturer showed up to guide us, and with his help, we nailed another scene.

Third shoot: Environmental Faculty. Everyone dragged props and equipment to the location. Teamwork was on 100%. Another scene wrapped!

And then… exams happened. Cameras down, textbooks up. Filming had to pause. But we’ll be back to finish the rest.

This project has been a mix of stress, teamwork, creativity, and a lot of laughter. We’ve learned, we’ve struggled, but most importantly—we’ve created something we’re proud of.

The movie isn’t finished yet, but trust me… the best is coming.
