You’re insecure
I understand why but it annoys me.
Your heart sings to me but i find it noisy
People have left you before so you think I would too
You question my every move.
I know myself, i see myself
People want me, I expect nothing less
When I choose you, I choose you.
But you, you make me use you.
The constant reassurance is tiring.
You’ve become a red flag to me, I see you and sirens
Your voice no longer soothes me,
Your eyes no longer suits me
Your presence thrills me no longer
I fancied you but when we were younger
I don’t know how to leave without breaking you.
A wild goose chase is where I’m taking you
The truth might scar you for life
So I play this game of pretense.
Everything we are is in the past tense.
