Ayo Labinjoh, who says she is the mother of teenager Anu Adeleke, has vehemently denied online accusations tying her to Nigerian music star Davido (David Adeleke) and reignited a long-running paternity dispute, claiming her daughter has suffered years of bullying and emotional distress because of unresolved identity questions.
Labinjoh insists she was a waitress, not someone picked up at a club as alleged on social media, and disputes that credible DNA tests were ever properly conducted, alleging past blood samples were mishandled and that a purported result was fake.
She says her daughter is “fighting for her identity” and plans to ask the US State Department to help supervise a fresh, independent DNA test, highlighting the emotional toll the controversy has had on Anu’s mental health.
The controversy escalated after Davido publicly denied the paternity claim and responded sharply to a recent DNA test appeal from Anu, asserting that multiple DNA tests (which he says total five) have come back negative and that he has never had a relationship with the teenager’s mother beyond the testing process.
In strongly worded posts on X (formerly Twitter), the Afrobeats star rejected the latest request for testing, denied knowing Labinjoh personally, and labelled the renewed claims “nonsense,” prompting mixed reactions online over the tone of his comments and the handling of a dispute involving a minor.
